EDITING A “SUCCESSFUL” SPECIAL ISSUE/NEW JOURNAL ISSUE
- SUCCESSFUL SPECIAL ISSUE/NEW JOURNAL ISSUE
- Once a proposal has been approved in principle by AJO Editorial Office, it is the responsibility of the Guest Editor(s) to deliver the soft copy of entire issue to AJO within the agreed time-scale. Guest Editors must organize a double-blind reviewing process for all papers submitted for inclusion in the special issue or for each issue of the newly established journal, so as to:
- Identify those papers to be finally included in the special issue.
- Strengthen these papers, so as to ensure the highest possible standards for the issue.

SUBMISSION PROPOSAL (SPECIAL ISSUE)
PROPOSAL OF SPECIAL ISSUE
The editors of AJO require copies of all correspondence between reviewers and Guest Editors at the time that the completed draft of the special issue is submitted to AJO. Guest Editors should keep the AJO Editorial Office informed by e-mail of progress in preparing the special issue and in particular alert them in advance if agreed deadlines are likely to slip.
FINAL SELECTION
FINAL SELECTION OF PAPER
Once the final selection of papers has been made and final versions (as per AJO format guidelines) of all these have been received, the Guest Editors should inform AJO Editorial Office about the total number of accepted papers for the special issue.
The AJO Editorial Office will then check the quality of the issue with the help of Editor-in-Chief before forwarding it for publication. The Editorial Office reserve the right to request a third review of papers and, if necessary, to request modifications to an issue before approving it for publication. However, the procedures set out above are designed to minimize the need for such measures.
SPECIAL SECTIONS
PROPOSALS FOR SPECIAL SECTIONS
Our editors of all journals also welcome proposals for special sections within an issue of the journal (a total of 1-3 papers, including a brief introductory piece). The procedures for preparing proposals and editing “successful” special sections are the same as for special issues, with the exception of the number of papers involved.
JOURNAL PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM
INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM
Journals with shared scientific goals and missions are welcome for International Journal Partnership program. The main benefit of this program is the wider dissemination of scientific information to new audiences. Marketing benefits include an enhanced credibility of each partner – both journals benefit from increased visibility by providing reciprocal presence and recognition on websites and in advertisements.
Other benefits are to co-publish research papers, meeting reports or reviews. Partners might also decide to exchange editorial board appointments to allow better understanding of journal activities and access to processes. |
